At the EMO fair, GrindingPlanet, the first independent marketplace for the grinding industry, celebrated its debut. During 8 days, the message was at the top of the EMO's news page - right next to the President of the German Federation. That caused a lot of attention.
The number of visitors to GrindingPlanet, the new online and comparison platform for the grinding industry, far exceeded the expectations of the Swiss start-up company. In the first 5 weeks since the launch, the platform recorded more than 1,400 visitors and over 12,000 page views. Many specialists from the grinding industry have spontaneously subscribed to the electronic newsletter. This shows the high demand for information about grinding machines and the industry.
The reason for the interest on the online marketplace was the easy possibility for comparing machines from the categories grinding, polishing, honing and lapping. Besides to manufacturers, buyers from the industry were also able to convince of the diversity of products and the simplicity of product comparisons. The online database now contains about 1200 machines from 165 manufacturers. A fast expansion of the product range is planned.
GrindingPlanet serves the industry for brand research and product comparison. To supply the professional world with product and market information, the manufacturers have several modular service packages available: an online newsletter as well as different social media channels.
