Vertical grinding machine for complex geometries

The VG-800 has a compact design, including independent slides for maximum precision in positioning, and offers a high degree of customizability. The range has a turret that enables a large choice of configurations to provide the necessary flexibility to complete different machining processes in one set-up. The development is claimed to be fully adaptable to specific machining needs thanks to its capacity to incorporate different technologies for grinding, turning, drilling, boring and milling operations as well as measurement processes. The machine head is fitted with a high-frequency spindle for internal grinding and a tangential spindle, both of which were developed in-house.

The solution also features a tool with the ability to measure internal, external diameters, surfaces and cones, thus permitting intermediate measurements. In addition, the C-axis includes hydrostatic technology that is said to ensure an optimum surface finish and roundness to less than a micron. The linear motor of the X-axis, which is controlled by optical scale, is cooled to a controlled temperature and affords the dynamic capability to make high-precision interpolations.

The VG-800 comes with the Danobat DoGrind software, with a program library for grinding, turning and measuring as well as a module for energy saving and sustainability.
